Worlds Leading Manufacturer of Dispensers for Water-Activated Tape Featured on Made in America

Better Packages Singled out for its Packaging Security and Safety

Shelton, Conn., December 2004 -- Better Packages, the world's leading manufacturer of dispensers for water-activated tape, is being featured on the national TV show "Made in America" for its long record of quality, innovation and packaging security.

The segment featuring Better Packages airs on The Travel Channel 9:30 pm, April 5. The segment will air again at 12:30 am on April 6, and April 9 at4:30 pm ET.

"Made In America, produced by the Discovery Channel's Travel Channel, celebrates American manufacturing. Part of a larger program featuring U.S. manufacturers, the Better Packages segment dramatizes the extraordinary strength and security of water-activated tape. Host John Ratzenberger demonstrates how plastic tape can easily be tampered with while water-activated tape can't be opened without showing evidence of tampering. Performing what it calls the "Connecticut Yankee Quality Check," Ratzenberger gets into a large carton sealed with water-activated tape. The seal withstands Ratzenberger being lifted while standing inside the carton. The same test using plastic tape failed every time.

Founded in 1917 and based on an invention for water-activated tape by Thomas Edison, Better Packages quickly became a leader in its day for developing more efficient ways to dispense water-activated tape. Today the company has a host of new packaging security products while continuing to produce the BP333 (recently renamed the BP333 Plus), the worlds best-selling manual tape dispenser.
